DIY Project – Decorating A Pot Rack

Decorating a pot rack is a great DIY task that has a lot of rewards. To save space you can even paint a pot rack directly on the wall. For the most basic design try painting a color block on the wall in a contrasting color. Hang hooks directly on the wall and suspend your pots from them. Or try stenciling a faux iron pot rack design on the wall. You can find thousands of stencil designs online or at your local craft store. 

If you decide to buy a real pot rack, give it character and style by choosing utensils with vivid colors that will add pizzazz to your kitchen. To give your space a clean and crisp feel, hang only stainless steel pots. Or, give it a warm feeling by adding greenery to the top of the pot rack. For a French country style adorn wall racks with bottles of wine or unique olive oil bottles. You can also put your favorite photographs in ornamental frames on the shelves of a wall or floor rack.  

Easy Pot Rack

Make a simple pot rack by hanging a wooden closet rod from metal rod brackets installed in the wall:

1.       Fasten a knob to each end of the rod, using double-ended screws

2.       Paint or stain the rod and knobs as desired

3.       Screw the rod brackets into the wall studs to hold the weight of the items that will hang from the rod

4.       Hang pots from the rod with S hooks

5.       Attach the shelf to the top of the unit
